The Parents’ Association has been in existence for well over 50 years and became a registered charity in 1994. It exists to promote links between parents and the school whilst raising funds to purchase a range of resources and equipment for the young people. Additionally, each year we sponsor a teacher to accompany sixth formers on the annual visit to Mogonjet in Kenya where the KEGS community supports and funds a school. We are currently also raising funds for a new minibus.
As a parent of a child at KEGS, you are automatically a member of the Association. We have a committee made up of volunteers; parents like you who give their time to organise and plan activities with the active support of the Headteacher and his staff. The committee plans and organises a number of fund-raising events during the year (see events calendar below) which include selling refreshments at regular sports fixtures and musical events as well as a Summer Fayre.
The Association meet monthly to discuss and plan events and we welcome new members to come and meet other parents and get involved with fundraising activities. You don’t have to attend all of the meetings, there are lots of other ways that you can help:
