Drama

Drama at KEGS is highly valued.  We encourage students to audition for school plays, whether they are long time ‘Luvvies’ or have never acted in their life.

Some shows may be targeted towards either Lower School or older students and this will stated on the audition posters at the time. All productions rely on the support of a backstage/creative team and students are warmly invited to take on the roles of Assistant Director, Stage Manager, Set Designer, Costume Designer etc.

We want students to explore the wonderful world that Drama offers and to take full advantage of our resources including a professional sound and lighting rig and two fantastic performance spaces.

The technical side of theatre is always popular and students develop their skills in technical theatre by joining a dedicated student led team of lighting and sound engineers. Many of whom continue to pursue their technical skills at University or in the Industry.

If you’re interested in the opportunities that Drama can offer, you will find a club that will support your interests. These include.

• House Drama competition ( Open for all)
• Junior Drama Society (for Years 7-9)
• Technical Crew (Open for all) and includes training on how to operate lighting and sound equipment
• Whole school production (usually open to all)
• National Youth Theatre coaching (open for Years 12 and 13)
• Drama Society (for Years 12 and 13)
