King Edward VI Grammar School Chelmsford

KEGS Heritage Project

Take a virtual tour of KEGS and learn a little about our 473-year history, courtesy of this delightful film which has been made by the Chelmsford Civic Society for the Heritage Open Days project 2024.  The national project provides access to historic buildings which are not normally open to the public and Chelmsford Civic Society has broadened this to include films.  We are thrilled that KEGS was chosen as one of this year’s subjects.

Our thanks to film maker Paul McLean, to KEGS archivist Barbara Gray, and to the former students who added their memories.

The resulting short film provides a very interesting snapshot of our long history, and we hope that you enjoy it
