FREE ACCESS FOR NATIONAL SPORTSPEOPLE (FANS)
Essex FANS scheme is a Sports Development initiative designed to provide support to the country’s leading talented sports performers.
The scheme provides nationally ranked sports people with free access to participating local authority and private leisure and sports facilities at designated times for personal training and development.
The scheme is open to individuals in a national team/squad or listed in the top 10 nationally within their sport. Individuals living in Basildon, Braintree, Chelmsford, Colchester, Epping, Harlow, Rochford, Southend, Tendering and Uttlesford boroughs are eligible.

SPORTS LEADERSHIP
YEAR FOUR 'SUPERSTARS' EVENT
On Friday 16th March 2007, the Year Ten GCSE Physical Education students helped run, the annual Year Four ‘Superstars’, multi skills sports event at Chelmsford Athletics Stadium. Across the day, the GCSE pupils worked tirelessly to lead over five hundred children in various physical activities.
YEAR SIX GIFTED AND TALENTED DEVELOPMENT DAY
At the end of the Autumn Term 2006, KEGS hosted a Sports Development Day for upper Key Stage Two students from a large number of local primary schools. The event was a great success and enabled the Year Six students to extend their skills in a variety of different activities.
The team of Year 11 and 12 students who helped run the workshops, included the Chelmsford Young Ambassadors David Robinson and Robert Legg, plus, Perry Fung, Bradley Amorgie, Matt Ferguson, Matthew Ogunsanya, Nilukshan Jeganathan, Michael Thompson, Richard Carter, Sam Horti, Jamie Garrard, Danish Dewan, Fahad Sheikh, Dominic Elvin, Ted Harding, Adil Dewan, Jonny Groves, Angus Burns, Jaimen Patel, Andrew Fairlie and John Sacre.
