EXAM RULES
You should arrive at least 10 minutes before an examination is due to start. Assemble in the canteen before morning exams. Seating plans for the exams will be displayed outside the hall.
Enter the exam room in silence and remain completely silent until all the papers have been collected. Remember that some students may still be working when you leave the exam room.
You are expected to remain in the exam room throughout the scheduled period of the exam. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE EARLY: spend any spare time checking your answers.
You must make sure that you have the correct equipment with you: blue or black pens or biros, ruler, pencil, rubber, etc, all in a transparent pencil case or plastic bag. You may not use red pen or biro or any ink eraser. Cross out any errors and write in the correct answer. You must remove the case or lid from your calculator before you enter the exam room.
You are not allowed to take food or drink into the exam room but you may bring in a bottle of water if you wish.
It is your responsibility to make sure that you do not bring unauthorised material into the exam room. Make sure you have left revision notes outside. If you are permitted to refer to a text or to notes you have made, you must make sure that you have brought in only the permitted material.
Mobile phones should be switched off and handed in before the exam. The invigilators cannot accept responsibility for looking after your phone: it is better if you do not bring it to school. Other electronic equipment (e.g. MP3 players) is also prohibited from the exam room.
If you are unwell and cannot attend an exam you should let the school office know in advance. If you are late, go to the exam room as soon as you arrive in school and tell the invigilators why you are late. Wait under supervision, in the exam room, until the exam officer, Dr Riley arrives.
