FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD .......

New catering standards for lunch introduced from September 2006 have meant more change in the dining hall. The removal of salt, doughnuts and anything with chocolate in or on it have had the biggest impact as the rest of our lunch provision already closely fitted the standards.

Catering Manager James Perry, who previously ran his own restaurant (The Hot House) in Chelmsford for over 13 years, took over the school kitchen in January 2007 and it has been going from strength to strength ever since.  Menus are rotated on a three weekly cycle.  They include a hot meal and a vegetarian choice evey day and a wide selection of sandwiches, rolls, wraps, pasta and salads.  Changes are made for seasonal produce and new recipes.  All dishes are made on site from scratch, using fresh ingredients, by our catering team.  Fresh produce from KEGS own allotment also features in our meals !

We are committed to continual improvement of the food, we are conscious of price and giving the students a good choice of food they want to eat.  We listen to what students have told us and endeavour to provide the best possible service.
