LIFE IN THE SIXTH FORM
Students new to the School and to the Sixth Form (Year 12):

Here are some testimonials from students who are in, new to or have just left the Sixth Form:

"While the high level of education that you will receive here at KEGS is undisputed, there are often misconceptions about both the social life and the extra-curricular activities available.  I was new to the Sixth Form this academic year, and was worried that everything would be work orientated and that I wouldn’t enjoy myself.  However, by the end of the first day I realised the motto was to work hard and to play hard (as clichéd as it sounds!).  Both the students and the teachers are incredibly supportive and friendly and you feel like you’ve been here for ages after a matter of weeks; it’s that easy to settle in.  We have such a wide array of characters and passions here that you can attend anything from ‘Philosophy Society’ to ‘Historical and Political Society’ to ‘Science Club’.  There are also a great number of trips you can get involved with including Italy, Iceland, and ‘World Challenge’ expeditions.  If you do come to KEGS I guarantee that you will soon realise that the quality of the education is more than matched by the outstanding social life."

"What makes KEGS so accepting to a new girl is the people in it – there is not a single student or member of staff who will not stop to help you find where you need to go if you look lost in the corridor.  KEGS opens your mind to new ways of thinking about things and certainly to a new (unique!) sense of humour……."

A student in Year 13:

"Lots of friendships are formed in the Sixth Form, through the wide variety of activities available to Sixth Formers, incorporating community events such as Sports Day and the annual Carol Service, in addition to the varied range of House events which take place throughout the year."

A student that has just left the Sixth Form:

"Being a new girl at KEGS is a daunting prospect and yes, it takes time to adapt to the unique environment.  But I personally have found that the longer I am here the more I wish I could have been at KEGS since Year 7 – and more - I wish I never had to leave!"
