SCHOOL UNIFORM & DRESS CODE : REQUIREMENTS FOR YEARS 7 - 9
ALL UNIFORM MUST BE CLEARLY LABELLED
The average cost of a Year 7 school uniform (items purchased through the School Shop) and PE kit is £210.
Uniforms are available from the school (certain embroidered items cannot be purchased elsewhere). For new Year 7 students, uniform items should be ordered by the end of April and returned with the acceptance form. An appointment system for fittings will be arranged by Mrs Jane Ward.
UNIFORM
Trousers
Dark grey or black (no corduroy, canvas or denim). If worn, belts should be plain in design and black
Blazer
Black with school badge (red braided for boys in Years 7, 8 & 9, unbraided for Year 10 and above)
Shirt
White for Years 7-11. Students in Years 12 & 13 may wear any coloured PLAIN shirt. Patterned shirts are not allowed
Shoes
Black shoes, lace up or slip on. Suede shoes, boots, trainers, track shoes and black or brown shoes with crepe or other non-matching coloured soles or laces are not permitted
Pullover
Plain black v-necked pullover for Years 7, 8 & 9. Year 10 & 11 may wear plain black waistcoats or cardigans (black buttons & no zips) as an alternative to the pullover. Year 12 & 13 may also wear black waistcoats or cardigans)
Tie
Can only be purchased from the school shop. Service Ties are awarded to those who make significant contributions to school life.
Socks
Dark coloured socks.
Coats
Dark coloured overcoats to cover blazer, no denim.
Scarf
A school scarf is available or dark scarves should be worn.
Apron
For Design & Technology, an apron can be purchased from the school shop.
School Bags
Both sports and school bags are available from the school shop.
PE
White polo shirt can only be purchased from the school shop, white shorts, athletics vest, white ankle socks, white crepe soled shoes. (Trainers are permitted but not with black soles). Please embroider boys' initials in large letters on the shirt and shorts in House colours. Holland (Blue), Mildmay (Yellow), Strutt (Green), Tindal (Red).
Games
A towel must be brought for all games and PE activities. A school track suit only from the school shop is required for all boys doing Athletics or Games. Please attach a name tag to all clothing items for PE and Games.
For Football and Rugby the following items are only available from the school shop - a reversible shirt (red and black) and black socks with red tops. You will also require black rugby shorts and football boots.
For cricket the following items are required - white shirt, white or grey trousers, white shoes, white pullover (members of School teams must wear full whites). Gum shields (available through the school PE Department) and shin pads must be worn for contact sports.
DRESS CODE (MORE SPECIFIC INFORMATION IN WORK ORGANISERS)

Students should be correctly dressed in full uniform and smartly presented at all times, including whilst travelling to and from school.

Blazers should be worn unless permission is given otherwise.

Jewellery should not be worn at any time.

Ties should be done up to the collar.

All shirts need to be tucked in.

Hair should be a sensible style with no extremes of fashion.
Final decisions on any particular uniform issues are at the discretion of the Head of Lower School.
INSURANCE
The School does not have an insurance scheme covering the personal belongings of boys and teachers. So please make sure that all clothes and footwear are clearly marked.
