SCHOOL COUNCIL
The Autumn Term 2007 saw the re-launch of the KEGS School Council. Following discussions with students and staff during the previous academic year, there was a restructuring of the School Council, so that KEGS now has three distinct School Councils - one for each part of the school. This is to make debate more manageable and specific to key issues which may concern those year groups. The role is high profile with due recognition and badges given.
Each section of the School Council is a small and focused action group elected to carry through specific proposals and there is a specific brief for expectations of Council members in communicating with their section of the school. Each section also gets a small budget which they must spend appropriately.
The Councils are elected to their positions by their peers using the system of a single transferable vote. Their period of office lasts for one academic year and Councils meet as and when required.
