GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT MAKING AN APPLICATION FOR A PLACE AT KEGS IN YEAR 7
There are two forms that you will need to complete in order to apply for a place at KEGS.
Firstly, you have to register your son to take the 11+ exam. This is done by registering with the Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex (CSSE) who are the organisation that manage the 11+ process in Essex. The form, which can be completed online, is called the Supplementary Information Form (SIF). To register please go to www.csse.org.uk.
Secondly, all parents living in Essex must apply to Essex County Council for their preferred secondary schools. The Essex Common Application Form (CAF) is the only way you can apply for a secondary school place for your child. The CAF can either be completed and submitted online at www.essexcc.gov.uk/admissions or you can complete and return the form in the centre of the LEA Secondary School Admission booklet - please do not do both. Please contact School Planning & Admissions if you do not receive an acknowledgement on 0845 6032200.
Parents living outside of Essex must apply to their local education authority, giving King Edward VI Grammar School as one of their choices.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT COMPLETING THE CSSE SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION FORM ON ITS OWN IS NOT AN APPLICATION.
